PRE-SEPARATION COUNSELING

TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TAP) TAP is a mandatory program for all service members separating or retiring from the military and must begin no later than 365 days prior to their proposed transition. TAP is a four-step process, and much be completed in order.
