SUMMARY:Cardboard Boat Race
DESCRIPTION:The Cardboard Boat Race returns on June 26\, 2026 at the Cadet Aviation Pool on Maxwell Air Force Base\, inviting teams of four to test their creativity\, teamwork\, and engineering skills by building a seaworthy vessel entirely out of cardboard and duct tape. Boat construction begins at 11:00 AM\, with races starting at 1:00 PM\, and spectator gates opening at 12:30 PM. Registration opens June 11\, 2026 and is limited to the first 20 teams\, closing June 22\, 2026 or once all spots are filled. 18+ ONLY to participate! Each team will be provided with four cardboard boxes and four rolls of duct tape. Competitions will award prizes for Fastest Finish Time\, Team Spirit\, and the Titanic Award for the most spectacular sinking. Absolutely no pre-building is allowed; all boats\, paddles\, and components must be constructed on-site during the official build period\, and any team found bringing pre-built materials or assembling prior to 11:00 AM will be disqualified.
